Meet Yu Ming & Derek, Founders of Sparkle

She's a beauty-obsessed supplement lover and he has a strong entrepreneurial drive.

As a husband and wife team, Yu Ming and Derek have created Sparkle, a supplement brand with an emphasis on scientifically evidenced natural approaches for beauty-from-within and wellness.

Having lived in Asia for many years, they couldn’t help but sit up and notice how ubiquitous ingestible beauty supplements are. Women in Asia eat and drink many herbs and supplements to maintain their health and beauty.

Just after moving to Tokyo, Yu Ming started consuming collagen supplements every day for several months out of curiosity. When friends and family started to notice a new glow to her skin, she knew she found something special.

Yu Ming realized skincare is not just about fighting problems with topical creams — maintaining skin health and radiance starts from the inside.

Around this time, she was also experimenting with everything from raw food to juicing and the message was clear: you have to take care of yourself on the inside because it will show on the outside. That lay the foundation for Sparkle.

In between raising their 4 young children, Yu Ming and Derek have spent many years doing the research for developing Sparkle products.

They take the time to find the right people to work with and to source scientifically proven naturally derived ingredients as they want to make sure they proudly sell a product that they are consuming themselves every day.
